Tiwul
Do you know what tiwul is? maybe some people from Trenggalek and its surroundings are already familiar with Tiwul. But for those of you who don't know and are still unfamiliar with Tiwul, I will tell you what tiwul is. Tiwul is a staple food substitute for rice, and is made from cassava. Tiwul can be used as a healthy food because it is quite low in calories, and is suitable for friends who are on a diet. It is said that many people think that when we eat tiwul, we feel full longer than when we eat rice.
Well this time I will tell you how to make tiwul based on the knowledge I got from my mother. First we have to prepare the cassava. Then peel the cassava and cut it into two parts. After that, dry the cassava until it feels dry enough, one of these stages usually takes a few days. Well, after the cassava feels dry enough, then remove it and wash it clean. Then soak the cassava in clean water for two to three days. After that, the cassava marinade was ground until smooth, then placed in a "tampah" or container to form into small fine grains through the "nginthil" process in Javanese. Then it can be directly steamed until cooked and ready to be enjoyed.
And because most people don't make tiwul for one meal, they usually hang the steamed tiwul to dry. So it is more durable and can be used several times over a long period of time. Usually people cook tiwul as a substitute for rice, accompanied by eggplant and Semar fish cooked with coconut milk, and with boiled cassava leaves, and the menu is very delicious to enjoy while warm.
Thank u:)
