My Job in August

 

  In August, Alhamdulillah, Allah made it easy for me to find sustenance. August is the month when Indonesia became independent, precisely on the 17th. Well, this time I want to share a story about my job in August. I work in the field of makeup services to be exact. I don't have my own place of business such as a salon or my own name, so I still work with other people.

Maybe some of you are asking, how do I start all of this. So initially in high school I took makeup extracurriculars, and then after graduation I did a bridal makeup training for a few months. And Alhamdulillah from that experience I can be trusted by several people to help them when they get a job. 

Back again to the topic, So in August all Indonesian people must do a lot of activities to welcome Independence Day, such as competitions, carnivals, drum bands, art performances, and so on, including In My Region. Then in August, I got a few jobs to do makeup. 

First, my sister got a job to do makeup for children who wanted to dance at art performances in the village. Then my friend asked me to help her make up the elementary school kids for the choir, and then the junior high school kids for the carnival. There was teacher when I was in high school who asked me to do makeup carnival for elementary school kids and also a drum band. And the last one is doing makeup for young mothers who want to do gymnastics and participate in carnivals in the sub-district. 

When doing makeup for the carnival and drumband participants, I left my house at around 02.00 am to a place for make-up which is about 10 km away by motorbike. And then the work is finished around 09.00 am and go straight home. oh yeah, the road I took was quite dark and lonely because it was a forest, but Alhamdulillah Allah always gave me protection. Meanwhile, when the place for makeup is close enough about 5 km, I leave the house at around 03.00 am or after dawn, and finish at 08.00 am. What I make up is about 10-20 people for that amount of time. I really enjoy and appreciate this job, and I do this job with pleasure, even though I wake up very early to leave. And for the results, a little or a lot, I'm still grateful, Alhamdulillah.
